Round purple fruit, good but not screeching acidity, tannins come through on the long finish. Not a lot of structure, more like a comfortable hoodie.

Perfect with a sirloin strip at Crescent City Steaks. Compared to the '13, much more my style. Will be at it's peak in about 2 years.

The 16 months of oak together with the more than 15% alcohol (the winemaker actually sits next to me an assures that it has even more so) do show quite a bit in the 2012 vintage. Proper price value drinking.
