More like a California Pinot than my image of Willamette Valley. Fruit bomb

Very nice Pinot Noir. I first tasted the Archery Summit wines in ~2002 at the winery, and thought they were awesome then. This winery seems not to get a lot of distribution in my area, so it has taken a while to locate and try it again. I am not disappointed. It's a big Pinot with lots of fresh earthy notes and dark fruit - plum, maybe blueberry, a little strawberry at the finish. Slight floral hint in the nose along with some fresh grass. Really nice with food. Maureen liked it a lot too.

2014 opened Jan 2017. Black cherries and high notes of citrus in the bouquet. Somewhat puckery on the front of the palate. Earth tones on the top palate. Smooth velvety finish. If you like French Burgandies you'll like this. I'd give it higher rating but it doesn't hold up very well to a long breathing time. You lose the citrus high notes and the cherries fade to green plums. Top palate earth fades a bit, but the finish remains smooth.

2008 vintage. Needs plenty of time to breathe, but very fruity and deeper Pinot. Good way to end 2016.
