Arcadian
Francesca Central Coast Pinot Noir
This wine is in incredible shape. For almost 19...seriously, really good.

Jul 20th, 2019Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee lunch...always such a treat to attend. This week, Dan hosted. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All blind as usual.
I’m sorry, but I refuse to accept this a pinot! I’d be more likely to believe someone poured something different in to a pinot bottle. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a nice wine. My understanding is this is their blend of the best barrels from their other pinots. The nose on this screamed Bordeaux...leather and tar. Never gotten that from a west coast pinot. Fruit forward, soft red and black fruits. Black cherry and plum. I called right bank Bordeaux.

The barrel selection for this cuvee really works- beautiful Pinot fruit balanced by lively acidity and just the right amount of sous bois and earth. Clearly done in an old world style, but the best that SBC has to offer. Delicious, but no hurry.

May 31st, 2016Yum, drinking well for the age. Fruit and savory herbs. Great bottle from a average vintage.

May 11th, 2016Remarkably fresh at 15, with plenty of reserved red fruit along with orange zest and a hearty dose of sous bois. CA Pinot for burg-heads.

Nov 30th, 2015Still so young, bright fruited and fresh. Missing that layer of earthy complexity these get with a little more time. Not going to kick it off the table now, but it's best years are ahead.

Jun 30th, 2015Needed a couple hours to come around, but then shone in a restrained CA way with miso glazed salmon. Mature, but no rush.
