Arboreto
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Tangy smell. Easy and somewhat tastes like plums and turkey and Thanksgiving in a wine glass.

Dec 1st, 2016Deep clear ruby. Plummy on the nose, melded with cedar pencil box. On the palate it's the *sunny tomato acid* cheap Italian red dealio I've come to expect. Some fruit, but I get more tomato, grassy meadow and spicy leather. I agree with another reviewer, tannins are blah: not strong, not smooth, just kinda diffuse and chalky without really accomplishing anything. Fatty food makes them feel smooth. Compared to other ~$10 central Italian reds I've had, this one goes a little deeper into plum, and has a lingering note of baking spices. Food is important with this for sure, and that sweet baking spice on the finish wants the right pairing.
