Dark berries, spice, leather, shrooms. More structured tannins than I was expecting - this baby will age! And it is topped with a ridiculously high quality cork, so that’ll go the distance too. Overall impression is “Austrian Gamay”. I detect a hint of VA tho - hopefully that is static, and not increasing.

Dec 31st, 2017Suggested by a waiter in Vienna to go with Weinerschnitzel. Positioned as close to pinot but had more tannin, less fruit (dried), and a little bitterness on back end. Nevertheless was not bad.

Sep 23rd, 2014Nice, aromatic nose full of dark fruit (damson plum, dark sweet cherry, mulberry) and a pinch of exotic spice with cloves + a hint of turned earth.
On the palate this is quite light & on the fruitier side, with a herby bitter character and a nice frame. The tannins do seem a touch dry, yet the whole is very nicely balanced and highly drinkable and very enjoyable.

Tasted January 2014
Dark ruby-garnet with violet reflections.
Nose reveals delicate aromas of wild blueberries, blackberries, smoky hint, nuances of forest floor.
Subtle dark chocolate hints alongside with ripe and savoury red fruits on medium-bodied palate with solid structure. Pretty powerful tannins.
Wonderful tag game of fruitiness, tannins and acidity on the finish.
Perfectly matched for grilled sausages assortment.
