Uno Mendoza Malbec
Deep purple in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose of plums, cherries, blueberries, oak, light vanilla, spices, chocolates, tobacco leaf, mocha, coke, earth, cloves, leather and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, coffee, spices, peppercorn, bell pepper and bitter vegetables.
Spicy finish with nice tannins and peppercorn.
This is a drinkable Malbec from Mendoza. Not fully balanced and a little harsh, with bitter notes.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up. A good food wine to pair with BBQ Meats. For me this is not enjoyable, although drinkable.
The bottle looks beautiful, and maybe someone should have put more attention into the wine, rather than marketing it.
Aged for 8 months in French oak barrels.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
$14.

I’ve wanted to try this for a while. Soft mouthfeel but with the peppery nose comes a lingering peppery finish with spiced vanilla, pepper, & dark ripe plum tastes. This could compliment a nice steak meal. Interesting that the label says it’s barrel-aged for 8 months in French and American oak.
