‘Annata’ it says on the bottle with the gold medals and fancy M. (Annata is vintage in Italian. So that’s prominently displayed). Smells like an old wine cupboard and some simple berry sauce. Flavors are pretty light and evenly distributed. Little cranberry here, hint of cherry there. It’s sunny, simple and sufficient.

Dec 13th, 2020It’s red, but not too dark. It’s got a nice smell, but not one that’s dense and lovely. It’s tart and dry. Tastes pretty good, but it’s nothing spectacular in the Chianti category. If you need Italian Sangiovese to go with your box of mac-n-cheese, this is your jam.
