Delightful, easy drinking primitivo. Really exciting on the nose: blackberry, tobacco and dark chocolate. Cinnamon white pepper, and Hungarian paprika are added on the palate (midpalate to finish), and the dark chocolate notes appear more as dark roast coffee on the palate. Score is lower than I would give it otherwise because it is a bit flabby for my taste. This makes it a good easy drinker though because it is very smooth. Acid is on the low side for the varietal and you really only get the tannins on the finish. Definitely one to buy again though. Good value at $20 and quite approachable for dinner party guests.
