Second time rating this. This time around it seems to show much more red fruits with both a tart edge as cranberry and pomegranate and some richness as ripe cherry. Alcohol, while rich is balanced. Service temperature seems important on this one, not too warm.

Great juice, not sure the value is there though.

Planted in 1869 the Original Grandpere Vineyard is one of the truely iconic California vineyards. Farmed by only three families over its 140 year history, the 11 acre vineyard produces a very small amount of fruit each year, every tin prized by winemakers. There is a rare harmony of ripe red fruit, pepper, and spice in this 2011 vintage.

A nice bold zin, has a good spicey finish that's slightly smokey. Would pair well with a meal that's protein heavy.

Don't do it. Burnt tire/rubber. Color looks like cranberry juice. Half of the depth of flavor as most zins. But I have had worse.
