As round and fleshy as a Rubenesque painting, with 15.3% ABV, there is considerable force and momentum to this Napa Valley Chardonnay. Notes of toasted coconut, meyer lemon and ripe Bosc pear. On the palate, thankfully, a burst of acidity provides structure and much-needed tension. The finish is very long, with a subtle green herbal note hanging on the finish not unlike the pastoral rolling hills typical of high Baroque paintings. See Peter Paul Rubens Pastoral Scene 1636 for reference.

Oct 7th, 2014Bought from winery. Gold in color. Oak and butterscotch on the nose. Fortunately balanced by some good acidity and some tropical fruit. Overall, some Cali oak, deep yellow fruit, balanced by decent acidity.
