I am always eager to uncork a high end Washington Syrah! 😺🍷 I had been cellaring this bottle, the “last man standing” from my visit to the winery a few years back. This bottle did not disappoint. It is full of the rich plum fruits layered over that body so peculiar to Washington Syrah, this sort of pleasant mushroom tinge. I realize that may not sound palatable, but once tasted, it really lights up that “eureka!” center of the oenophile brain; imagine your first tastee if the Rutherford Dust tannic structure. Amaviis among my favorite Walla Walla wineries, and this Syrah is perfect for sipping with honored guests or old friends 😼

We started in Walla Walla and finished over with a fully bodied Syrah. Classic warm Mediterranean spice delivered by dark fruit of plum, and Açaí. Polished tannins made easy to drink. Nice sipping wine!

Oct 6th, 2018Syrah in all aspects. Strong warm herb like rosemary/oregano upfront. Strong jammy fruit. Limit structure/finish. A bit unbalanced.
