àRose Estate Rose Blend
Estate Rosé Syrah, Walla Walla Valley. Reddish pink with an orange tinge, excellent clarity. White floral notes in nose. Strawberry and white pepper flavors with a hint of bing cherry, mineral and white pepper finish. Moderate astringency, skin and seed, enough to warrant decanting or patience (at least two hours). Strawberry and white pepper aftertaste with a hint of spearmint. Just enough acidity, but there’s a soft rounded mouthfeel under all those tannins. A serious and challenging but worthy rosé, one I like and that pushes the boundaries of the genre, but not all will like it.

Aug 23rd, 2019Estate Rose Syrah. Very light pink, excellent clarity. Notes of red fruit, flowers, dust, sage and Provencal herbs. Cherry flavor with length, dry, lemon-orange finish with slight skin astringency. "Lightly done" seems to be the design principle, but there is a lot of fruit and varietal expression running through this wine. Paired interestingly (imperfectly) with Humboldt Fog goat chèvre cheese and woven wheat (Triscuit) crackers. Pricey, so you should expect more value delivered. Bad pairing on my part, but pretty good rose.

Aug 19th, 2018Golden pink in color. Strawberry, lemon notes in mouth with dried cherry skin, minerality in finish. Slight astringency around edge of tongue in aftertaste. Fairly rounded mouthfeel. Pricey but good times with this one, it's the fruit and the textures here

Sep 24th, 2017Estate Rose Syrah. Pale pink in color with orange tinge. Floral, citrus, cherry and green chile pepper, green pea, green bean notes in nose. Orange cherry notes in mouth. Lees creaminess and minerality with some gypsum-like tactile astringency in finish. Nice varietal character, even with aging. Sophisticated pour.
