Forgotten cellar wine #9766. Was skeptical about the 2000 vintage lasting so long, but for naught. Tertiary qualities predominate, but opened up with cherry cola, leather, dried plum, soft tannins but decent acids, mocha...glad I opened it!

A star from a lousy vintage Smooth, complex and humble. Plus they gave my wife a bottle of Sangiovese for her birthday which is a total class move. That’s got to be worth a tenth of a point or two.
