Alpine Roots Johannisberg AOC Valais 2023
Valais, Switzerland 🇨🇭

Overview
Made from 100% Johannisberg (also known as Sylvaner), this white comes from Valais, Switzerland’s largest wine-growing region. Johannisberg is the second most planted white grape here, known for producing supple, aromatic wines with regional character.

Aromas & Flavors
Fresh and expressive with grapefruit, orchard fruits (pear, apple), almonds, and floral hints. On the palate, flavors of citrus peel, ripe pear, and a touch of honeyed almond come through, with bright acidity and a mineral lift.

Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied, smooth, and rounded, with supple texture balanced by refreshing acidity. Clean and voluptuous, finishing with a subtle nutty edge.

Winemaking Notes
Crafted in stainless steel to emphasize freshness and fruit clarity, while preserving Johannisberg’s characteristic balance of fruit, acidity, and almond notes.

Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with grilled trout, shellfish, alpine cheeses, vegetable gratins, and light poultry dishes. Also excellent as a unique alternative aperitif.

Verdict
A vibrant Swiss white with personality—crisp yet supple, citrusy yet nutty. A wonderful introduction to Valais wines and a great alternative to more common international varieties.
