2018 vintage. Roasted red plum, cranberry, stewed cherries, graphite, leather, muted spice, dried herb. Good structure. Less Nebbiolo-like than other examples of the grape, incorporating a little more ripeness and baked quality to the fruit.

Really enjoyable and very dry Xinomavro red wine from Alpha Estate Hedgehog vineyard. Medium bodied and very muted red fruit. Very quaffable at only $19 if you shop. Little pricey here at $32

This is a new adventure for me and it didn’t disappoint. Black tea leaves, currant, and new leather up front. Lots of tightness, even after decanting for awhile. Dried plums, figs. The tanins are wonderfully balanced. Gotta get some more of this.

Drop-dead gorgeous. Plums, red currants and flowers. Lovely, integrated oak. Typical bitter balance.

Very high tannins, needs to age in bottle for several years. Stewed tomatoes and tar. Barolo anyone!
