Most classic example of Pinot Grigio I ever tasted. Single Vineyard. Really stands out.

Jun 26th, 2016Could have been a good wine if the Brett hadn't made it so hollow.

Apr 6th, 2015Drank it “pure” i.e. without food so the higher acidity was clearly noticeable. Very good but definitely a dinner wine

Jun 21st, 2022Initial nose of cheap funky cab franc… off-putting. But with time: more nuanced grilled meat and plum. Palate has nice lightness but brief finish. Cedar and dark fruits and a slight hint of licorice. Tannins are fine. Highly recommend but would not re-purchase.

Nov 24th, 2020Lagrein is a rare grape and serendipitous find from when I was in Alto Adige in August. There are less than 500 hectares planted worldwide and my hotel was perched above at least one of them. Conus has three things I love: dense fruit, minimal intervention, and alcohol restraint. A good reference point would be Cabernet Sauvignon bottled from concrete instead of oak and picked early.
It’s full bodied, aromatically expressive, flavorful, soft, supple, and pure. Plum, dark cherry, cocoa.
