Ürziger Würzgarten Kabinett Riesling

Vintage 2018 | No colour adjustments, light pear and honey in smell, the honey comes back in a refined taste, well balanced sweet and acidity. I do like my kabinett older but it certainly improves each year. Always comforting to taste Merkelbach. | paired with melon and ham and filled bell peppers from the oven.

Slight lime, mostly crushed stone and a bit of petrol.

I think this is the last vintage before the famous elderly brothers handed over winemaking duties to the Selbach team. I’ve always loved their wines-this has a low key, understated throaty quality- as if the petrol notes boiled & cooled before serving.

Vintage 2018 / I bought this without tasting - so before putting it into the cellar... taste it. Very harmonious, very closed, carries a lot of potential. I must not touch it in the next 4 or 5 years...

Vintage 2016 Beautiful! Exceptional balance

Caramel apples, minerals, honey. Tart balance.

Was just given a mother-lode of Riesling for redesigning importer's site. This is the youngest bottle by 20 years.

I'm sympathetic to the Kabinett cause but with Merkelbach, spatlese seems like the best choice. This was sweeter and more round than I expected.
