Just a dinner glass for tonight is from Aldegheri Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso. Quite heavy and still young with black fruit driven character. String alcohol but nice fruit. Good potential. Flavours of liquorice with earthy and even black chocolate notes.

Dark cherries in the nose with dark cherries, currants, blueberries and leather. Paired well with roast chicken and delicata squash and dark chocolate.

Sep 10th, 2024This Ripasso went well with tagliata and steak it did need some time to open but when it did the fruit a the raisin aftertaste was really enjoyable. This was a 2020 vintage and I think it might even be better if left for a few more years.
