Chasselas

Upon opening this wine was bland, lacking in acid and backbone. I ordered another wine and brought home the remains of this one. In Day 3 it was singing! Balanced. Creamy lemon texture and taste. A good argument for decanting relatively young wine.

One of those unusual whites that need some decanting and better served at a bit warmer than fridge-cold. White peach, tangerine, golden apples, lemon zest and pith, with some cold steel and white pepper spice hints on the nose. Nice viscous mouthfeel with yellow peach, mirabelle plum, golden apple, mango, and a touch of coconut on the palate, with a buttery (but def not too much) quality and white pepper spice notes and the slightest hint of smoke that lingers a good while. Fantastic value from Alsace :)
