Jul 26th, 2015Identified as a unicorn. This was an amazingly nice Syrah. From detours vineyard by alban. Best with steak and lamb, long finish with loads of black pepper, blue fruits, and a sandy tannin at first. Beauty.

1 hour decant(decent fine/cloudy sediment). A striking dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: Captivating aromatics jump from the glass with blackberry, stewed plum, black olive brine, truffles, smoked meat, little funky earth. Taste: dark plum/cherry, dark chocolate espresso, smoke, dried herbs and a minerally meaty medium plus finish. YUM!!!

Absolutely fantastic. Had the last glass after placing it in the fridge with the cork in it for 2 additional days. Once it came up to temp a bit, I think it was drinking even better. Fantastic juice.

Seymour vs SQN Stock. Better aromatics and delicious, but overall too big and less interesting than the Stock.
