We tried. We tried so hard but after 4days in the desert, it was time to open the big guns. Balanced and beautiful on the palate. It's light and delicate, not what you would expect from Alban. (Maybe I'm waxing rhapsodic on bottle three. So Jim corrects me - we didn't actually finish the Aubert tonight.) But it's awesome - EXACTLY what you would expect from Alban.

Think of the finest expression of California Grenache and this Alban should come to mind. Not too extracted, not too lean. Eucalyptus aromas, ripe blackberry, almost jammy. Smooth long finish.

Amazing nose, super complex and really intriguing. Layered, great texture and tons of red fruits. Probably the best expression of this varietal in CA.

Even though this needs more time (3 hour decant) it started to show it's yumminess. I think this will be the wine of the decade with more time in bottle.
