Alba Vineyard
Alba Estate Chambourcin

Okay, it's chambourcin. It's a blending grape without a ton of character. But this is a really fine chamberson. It presents it is mostly oak at first but warmed up and opened out once it was aired. Price and how well it held up for 9 years. I'd buy it again.

Second time having this vintage. Gained a lot of earthy and smoky tonalities. Acidity stayed sharp and fruit didn’t fade out. The finish is like you grilled cherries on a open fire and then ate a ginger snap cookie. Alba does this varietal right. Many want to slap an oak bomb on this and call it a day, but this is shown respect and dignity. Cheers!
