Alain Hudelot-Noellat
Les Murgers Nuits-St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir

There are times when you drink a wine well before its prime because the wiliness of promising youth is still pretty damn exciting (even if not yet reconciled). One to hold and watch for sure.

Let sit for an hour or so - makes an unusually big difference - and a welcome one at that. A very nice, red fruit Pinot opened up into a beautifully well rounded one, with a minerality, black fruit & earthiness emerging after a bit of air time. This will be our Thanksgiving wine - and (if we find it in any quantity) we'll stick up with plenty more.
