Agrapart & Fils (Pascal Agrapart)
L'Avizoise Millésime A Avize Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs

Ripe stone fruit, a bit tropical, honey. Biscuit and butter came through on the palate. Elevated acidity, much rounder mouthfeel than Minéral due to clay vs chalk? Long finish.

Valentines Day tipple on Thursday. Pale Gold with fine bead. Yeasty notes with aromas of Lemon, Apple skin and mineral. On the palate - Powerful, not sweet, acid, reflecting a low dosage of 3g/L. Finishing with a dry chalkiness. A good future assured.

Vintage 2008. Fierce and vibrant. Chalk, citrus, heavy mineral kick. Powerful and fine bubble. Sad to say we drank it so quickly I never got into the meat of the wine. But it was so good we couldn't slow down.

Believe the hype and get it if you can... Champagne does not get much better than this lithe, cut beauty. Would it have been better after a long rest in the cellar? Almost certainly... But it sure was good!
