Tasted twice! Sourced from a plot of old vine Malbec in Medrano. warmest area of estate. Deep Ruby with pronounced aromas of black fruits, leather and earthy spice, aged in new French oak. On the palate flavors of raspberry, plum and blackberry with citrus, leather and pepper spice. Tannins are rustic and chewy, well balanced long finish ending with toasty oak, tobacco and mineral character. Nice, just beginning to develop, cellar time still warranted.

70 years old vines. Black cassis, blackberry and black cherry explosions. Very polished. The oak is very nicely integrated. Graphite and minerals made it a lot interesting. Extremely well made Malbec.

Wild violet, roses and black fruit aromas. Medium to high acidity, that makes this wine very interesting 7 years after the vintage. Wonderful persistance, with a wild strawberry and cassis aftertaste. At a very good moment to drink. I truely believe that the best south american wines should be consumed between 5 and 7 years after the "cosecha".

On the nose; more round ruby, ripe, perfumed, dark cassis, sweet candied black plum, blackberries, black raspberries, raspberries, candied violets, sweet dark rich soils and perfumed purple florals.

On the palate, the body is full. The palate is richer and the tannins are more velvety but, are still sticky and a bit chewy. The fruits are perfumed, ruby, ripe; black raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, creamy raspberries and cherries & strawberries as it opens. Dark rich soils, used coffee grounds, dark chocolate, some mocha & caramel, gravely dry soils, cigar, soft leather, light pepper, good, round acidity and a nice balanced finish.

The most powerful and forward of the three single-Finca wines from Achaval Ferrer, this is also from the (relatively) lowest altitude Vineyard site. Black fruit, silky texture, pronounced well -integrated tannins. Even young this wine has a rustic charm to it

The 2010 vintage is definitely better than 2011.
