Finca Altamira Mendoza Malbec

Great concentration and deep blue and black fruit. Not much else going on in terms of secondary notes. The lack of structure and length is worrisome but it sure as hell goes well with a fatty steak. #achavalferrer #finca #mendoza #argentina

Wow. First time really I get super excited about a Malbec. This is really something. Captivating and deep with great intensity and balance. Beautiful nuances. A big step up from your average malbecs and even a big step up from other premium malbecs as well.

Pepper, tannins, and ripe fruit. Finish is smooth but not too long and velvety. Nevertheless, the beautiful taste lingers in your mouth. The upshot is another great wine from Achaval Ferrer.

Too opulent for my tastes, the nose almost goes to dessert wine. Still nice to have tasted at the winery.
