Abadia Retuerta
Selección Especial Sardon de Duero Tempranillo Blend
Pure chocolate, spices, cake on smell. Lo g persistence, rounded, great acidity and great balance with fruit. A great great one after more than a week enjoying international wines

May 17th, 201475 Tempranillo, 15 Cab and 10 Syrah from Castilla y León. Little birdie told me that this one was past its prime. Although I completely disagree after opening, this wine is in a pretty good place. Does it knock you over? No. Better with food? Surprisingly better alone. The nose of this wine is fleshy and meaty. Rather expressive nose. Dark berry tart. Entry is dark, grilled meat. Mature blackberry and an earthy terroir note goes to the middle. The finish is a little acidic. Overall the mouthfeel was very silky which I was not expecting at all. I would drink now for sure, enjoyable wine.
