Dense purple-red, moderately to heavily extracted pigment. Black currant and funk notes on pour. Raspberry, cola and, later, salty mint and thyme-herbal flavors. Good acid but not quite tart. Moderate skin astringency, needs time to open.

Abacela pioneered Tempranillo in the Umpqua Valley and they still do it right! Great wine!

Fashioned in Crianza style- red fruit bouquet of plums, cherries with Asian spice, tar and hint of tobacco leaf. Med + acid and medium but firm tannin. Purity of fruit with lingering spice quality is very appealing at this price. One of best New World Tempranillo in this category, from a uniquely situated vineyard that was chosen specifically for its short growing season and favorable climate.

Picked this one up on my way to California. Beautiful... lush blackberries, smoky tobacco aromas and silky dark chocolate on the finish.
