19 crimes turned criminals into Colonists. Upon conviction, British rogues, guilty of at least one of the 19 Crimes, were sentenced to live in Australia, rather than death. Label: Jane Castings was caught and convicted for receiving stolen goods of cheese and bacon by training a group of teenage boys to steal the goods. Big bold chard with smoky aromas. Palate shows off smoky oak, some vanilla with hot alcohol burn. Not one of the more friendly chards I tasted. Last tried ‘16 not much better, pass on this one.

Wow! This chard from Australia is super rich looking. The nose has hints oak, pear and maybe some kiwi. On the tongue I get hints of pineapple and pears. I picked this wine because of the name and because I have never had an Australian Chard. This bad boy has 15% alcohol, wowsa!

Buttery, full bodied, easy to drink. Another winner from 19c

19 Crimes Hard Chard is 16% alc, yet tastes smooth, and not over powered. Oak on the nose, tasting very smoky, and buttery. I see why people wouldn’t like it, but I don’t mind it one bit. The 19 Crimes compatibility with living wine labels app makes the label come alive with a story behind every bottle which makes an awesome touch to show at dinner.

We really liked this one. It was well-balanced, and not at all oily.

Given how much I’ve enjoyed other 19 Crimes wines, this one was a disappointment. On the sweet side with flavor of coconut suntan lotion. Perhaps a bad bottle but at least it got a little better after breathing.
