Le Renard Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2009

Ah, Burgundy. Home to the most AOCs in France and strict purveyors of "terroir" wines. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the poster children of the region and have shared that spotlight for hundreds of years. "The Fox" is made from vines located in Côte Chalonnaise, an AOC lacking any Grand Cru vineyards. In this respect, the AOC produces great value Burgundy wines in comparison with it's neighbors. Found this dusty 2009 in a 2013 bin at a Total Wine and gave it a chance. Most of these wines should be drunk within 3-5 years - but this one is still drinking wonderfully. ~$20 | #chardonnay #bourgogne #coteschalonnaise
