Decanted for about 4 hours and then back into the bottle for a double decant for another 4. It worked well as the wine blossomed to a fairly open personality. The 2007 to me was on lock down out of bottle with no decant. Though 07 was fresher and more tannic, 09 seemed a touch riper with a slight appearance of raisin in the nose and palate. Blackberry, spice and other savory notes on the nose and palate. The texture was superb with ripe tannin and a density without a heavy weight to it. A very unique wine and expression that reminds me of Northern Rhone meets the Douro. #beirras
