While the White Stones escaped the grasp of premox, the White Bones did not fare so well. There were very obvious honey and musk notes, even tainting the nose. The palate was shorter than expected, and acidity very obviously muddled. All hallmarks for premox. Sigh. Having said all that, there were still some lessons to be learnt from the wine if you listen carefully. It was more generous than the White Stones, especially on the nose. Look pass the premox notes and you’ll smell green apples, lemons, and toast, along with very unique aromas of mint and ginger. There were even those on the table that noted that it smelled like toothpaste. Beguiling to say the least, and definitely a wine I’d like to try a pristine sample of.
