Not gonna lie, this is easily one of my favorite value wines each and every year. The problem is, there’s just never enough of it. It’s versatile and delivers H. Lignier quality and style for under $30 USD. Pop and poured. Deep ruby color with a nearly opaque core. Medium viscosity. On the nose, high intensity with a touch of horse blanket, dark cherry earth, desiccated strawberry, crushed rock…so funky…gym sock funky. On the palate, initially slightly effervescent though that dissipates within 10 minutes in the glass the wine is bone dry with medium tannin, medium+ acid. The finish is long with notes of dark, sweet tart cherry, bruised strawberry and earth. Yum!
