From one of the leading lights of the Chilean counter movement of wine, Pedro Parra, a doctor of terroir, soil and a very talented and well respected winemaker.
The Imaginador Cinsault is sourced from granitic soils in the region of Itata, dry farmed of course. Partially whole clusters, light extraction and matured in a mix of old oak and concrete for 12 months.
It is definetely not a shy wine, near provacative in its profile yet with respect and the fundamentals intact. Ripe but fresh strawberries, bramble, red currants with a very prominent savouriness of crushed stones, black pepper and an almost overwhelmingly smoked meatiness. Palate is light and fresh, directed by its acidity, a slight, smooth grip from the tannins, good fruit intensity but falls a wee short on the final. Quenchanble but serious and a fun drinker.

Had hi hopes for old vine Cinsault from Chile - and it was interesting w/prominent aromas of smoke, bacon fat, pepper, spices, leather and blue fruit. Fairly astringent tho - unbalanced acidity shortish finish initially but it settled down but ultimately remained rustic.

Smoke, pepper, spice. 100% cinsault. 100% unlike anything else.
