Losing some of it’s magic already.

Ah, ducru, it’s been too long. Balance. Sheer balance! Coffee and cocoa and lead pencil and jeez, I dunno, it’s great stuff. Comforting. Love it.

Deep purple color. This wine needed two hours to open up before displaying black cherry and cola notes followed by tar and black pepper. A rich, powerful pour in 2019 that is sure to improve for 10+ years. Cheers!

16 is the most consistent I’ve tasted in all my 20 years. If you are worried about 17 Napa, buy 16 Bordeaux. Ripe, rich, red, purple and blue fruits. Soft and elegant florals and dances on the palate. Great acidity and delicious rich, balanced finish.

Drank 1/18/19 at the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux event in Miami.  All wines from the 2016 Vintage.

Tasting pour, no formal notes taken.  Most of these wines are very tight, and will require 5-15 years to really come together.  Many will likely improve a few points with time.

#16 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2019. A Bordeaux blend full of flavor and complexity.

Black current, nutmeg, white pepper, eucalyptus on the nose blackberry hand pies topped with black raspberry jam with a dusting of cocoa and a bit of cigar box lingering on the finish. Elegance and balance with a tension/strong backbone that shows a beautiful aging potential.
