St. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend

This vintage is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc. This houses website lists the percentage of varietals in the vineyard. Decant for sediment only. The window is perfect, and should remain ideal for next 8 years. Plenty of acids for a 4ème Cru created in a rainy year. Last tasted 5 years ago and needed over 2-3 hours to open. Simply yum.

A surprisingly strong showing from this otherwise mediocre vintage.

Great nose and really opening up. Balanced through on the palate and some great fruit. Thanks, Charlie!

Another wonderful example of 2007 in Bordeaux

Where is the fruit ? A little flat

It was a perfect choice for the filet mignon at Daniel Boulud. 2007 probably at its peak right now.

Still carrying a good dose of fruit and acid, meaty undertones, ultra-mellow tannin.

Almost spearmint and blackberry nose with prune and ripe red fruits; bit clunky early but after decant and time lovely and balanced in a tough vintage.

Opened up to be quite pretty

I am not feeling this one. Bizarre earthy undertones do not mesh well with the over-extracted currant fruit. Pass on this one.
