Similar notes to 13 weeks ago. As I said then, essentially a simple wine. Many new world Pinots for the same money would show better than this. Dusty earthy red cherry. Really no point in further cellaring.

Oct 24th, 2021Ripe black cherry - sweet red fruits, no Sous Bois, mulch or savoury characters, probably reflecting the warmer vintage - light to medium weight. Sourced from many sites in the Cote de Nuits as well as their own plots in Vosne Romanee and Flagey. Essentially a simple wine but the quality of the fruit is undeniable.
Ripe black cherry - sweet red fruits, no Sous Bois, mulch or savoury characters, probably reflecting the warmer vintage - light to medium weight. Sourced from many sites in the Cote de Nuits as well as their own plots in Vosne Romanee and Flagey. Essentially a simple wine but the quality of the fruit is undeniable.

Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Nose has freshly sliced tart cherry, vanilla bean, bag of fresh cherries, toasted oak and dried (unsweetened) cranberry.
Palate has fresh cherry, partially dried cherry, dried cherry, dried orange zest, medium+ tannins and a long finish. Wow, yum!
Superb pairing to slowly (apple wood) smoked pork loin with a tight crust and appreciable smoke penetration. Future bottles may be 2025+.
A noticably different oak barrel program than a '15 Leroy Bourgogne Rouge in our second glass tonight, more aggressive oak. Superb pairing to slowly (apple wood) smoked pork loin with a tight crust (thank you medium thick fat cap) and appreciable smoke penetration.

Great nose. Maple sugar and cinnamon sugar cashews. A nice entry level representation of entry level burg. Slightly extracted but not overly so. Still struts nice acidity and earthy notes to balance the fruit. Definitely more secondary notes than normal west coast fruit bomb pinots.

Aug 11th, 2018Wow this is tight as tight can be... Nose is quite closed, primary fruit traits for the varietal on both aroma and palate. Mouthfeel is very smooth. Looking forward to getting back to this bottle in a couple days. Anyone wanting to open this should probably forget about this wine until 2020+, for expectedly a more rewarding experience.
