The last powerhouse from last night. All @India Okoh choice. And she chose well!

Deep garnet red. Muted nose, needs some time to fully open up, has some layers of bark, cedar, dark cocoa, a touch of anise, herbs and a little earthiness. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. After some breathing time this finally started to open up on the palate with some layers of damp leaves, earthiness, cherries, and tight truffles. Dry and super long finish. Drink till 2027.

This was medium bodied showing good balance that was still youthful & slightly closed that needed some air in the glass to open with notes of black fruits, cedar, leather, earth, forest floor, licorice & tobacco.

So much expectation in this famous one. Left enough time and patience for it, 2 hours later it still showed a strong and peace attitude. Forest style, mushroom, graphite, pencil shavings, blackberry and a kind of unique smell all the way(Couldn’t tell). Although it’s famous but not a perfect one for me, maybe the vintage maybe not.

Classic always had a weakness for 2004. Cedar box nose very dark light and elegant drink now. Tannins are receding. Chassis, tar this needs a steak. But overall to light and disappointing.

Cassis, and a lot of wood up front but opens to something so pretty. Nice feel but felt a little hollow mid-palate. Still a lot of development to go.
