Anniversaries call for special bubbly, this is that. Krug is one of my favorite champagnes and it was in top form tonight. Was a bit tight for 20 mins but unfurled beautifully to a bouquet of brioche, toast and caramel. Unctuous and long the palate was - apple galette, caramel, oxidative notes but with a minerality to give it some tension with a finish that seems to linger for ages. This, my friends, is champagne.
