Strong showing from this young Pauillac. Surprisingly elegant and pretty at this stage. Cassis, red currants and tobacco with great freshness on the palate. Wonderful herbal component with just a touch of brett. Very classic expression.

Classified as a Fifth Growth in 1855, is a close neighbor of Château Mouton Rothschild. A blend of 50% Cab Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 12% of Cab Franc & 2% Petit Verdot. A wonderful wine with the higher % of Merlot than usual, ripe fruit, citrus and spice aromas. Cherry, plum and currant flavors with a nice mineral edge, creamy soft tannins, lingering finish ending with a earthy mineral tang. Very Nice!

Not quite as mature as the 2012. The 14 was solid and nice but the aromatics were lacking. Needed more time.

Jun 11th, 202250/36/12/2 CS/ME/CF/PV. Deep, deep ruby. Almost impenetrable with just a little violet tinge. Oak was very prevalent upon first opening but blows off after decanting. A terrific amount of fruit on the nose. Stewed plums, red cherries, and blackberries stand out. Black olives and old leather show.
You say Pauillac and people usually sit up. Left Bank gloriousness for sure. Full bodied and deep, this is a silky smooth Bordeaux that has style, grace, and presence. And there’s power here, as well. The palate shows generous amounts of dark fruit, more oak, and clove cigarettes. Black pepper, black olives, and black cherries. Terrific value for the address. Really nice

Let me say from the outset. This is not for everyone. Plump, juicy, and velvety. Still pretty taut, with a chalky minerality on the finish. Lots of olive, iron, and burnt wood. For me, it works, but it’s going to be a big leap for the inexperienced. Enjoyable now, but I’d let it rest for a while. It will improve over time and patience will be rewarded.
