My Friday's Cabernet fix, guys.

Deep inky in color with a purplish rim.

On the nose, blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, green pepper, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices and black pepper.

Full bodied and bold, with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, bell pepper, cherries, oak, vanilla, alcohol, cola, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, leather, earth, spices and peppercorn.

Long finish with firm (green) tannins, black pepper and spices.

A very nice and entertaining, fruity Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. This is definitely a teeth staining red wine. Big, bold and still harsh, with some alcohol at the back of the throat and green tannins.

Still young and unbalanced, but drinkable right out of the bottle, and evolved some in the decanter.
Needs 2 hours to open up properly and show some tannins.

Needs 2 to 3 years in the bottle to mature, but will be better in 5 to 7 years.

Aged for 20 months in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels. 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Malbec, 5% Petite Verdot, 3% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

14.9% alcohol by volume.

Full bodied and delicious wine. Will get better with age- still tasted a bit young.
