A rich ruby red. Plummy dusty notes. A slight barnyard manure note. Pipe Tobacco, dark chocolate. Medium plus bodied palate. Smooth supple fine tannins. Part of the Moueix stable. Someone wrote “a feminine counterpoint to Petrus”. Haven’t had enough of either Cuvée to verify that. A wonderful expression of right bank Merlot from a great vintage. 70% Merlot 30% Cabernet Franc. Only 1500 cases made.

The 2000 Hosanna is a pretty dense wine that has plenty of dark chocolate, spice and leather elements. Despite the darkness of it, there is good freshness. And it is holding up very well.

Spectacular. Let it open and you can really see the progression of the wine.

Wonderful example of what a merlot-led blend can deliver; I mistook this for Mouton Rothschild when I blind tasted it. Powerful black fruit comes through in layers, with graphite & chalk behind it. This 2000 vintage has a long life ahead of it (when I tasted this blind I thought it was 8 years old, not 18)!

Deep Ruby Colour
On the nose, lots of Ripe Black currant, Blue berry, plum and very strong smoke, tobacco, leather aroma.
On palate, medium acidity and full body
The fruitiness and oak flavour integrated very well.High alcohol and high tannin but very round mouthfeel, tannin very soft and comfortable.Long Finnish!
Better decant it before as there are some sediments. Brought from friend~
