The community of Saint-Estèphe has it roots in the Gallo-Roman origins of this chateau. A blend of 78% Cab Sauv, 20% Merlot & 2% Petit Verdot. Deep Ruby with aromas of dense sweet black fruits with herb and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry, currant like, with tobacco, tar and hints of vanilla exposing mushroom notes. Well balanced, ripe textured tannins, long finish ending with earthy character. Nice, has plenty of room to develop.

Deep ruby with purple highlights, great earthiness on the nose, Lots of minerality without losing the fruit - cassis, black cherry, and plenty of violet. Very complex and yet so agile. Now the tertiary aromas come in - truffle, Sous Bois, tobacco

2012, Another great example that 2012 delivered some great wines. This lovely Saint Estephe has a deep garnet color, tempting nose, full of cassis, cherries, plums, green peppers, spices and coffee, full body, with dry robust tannins that need time to mellow, lovely acidity to secure good aging potential, long dry finish. My score 88, might improve with time, drink 2018-2028 perhaps longer.

Dec 26th, 2018Very young. Had to try after initially opening and it is so muted, closed, and tannic but after a 2hr decant it started.to soften and open nicely. Black cherry, spice, earth, and cedar. Very good and shows promise for many years to come.
