2004 not the greatest Bordeaux vintage on record. Lascombes faired a bit better than norm. Paired with AB Lamb Lollipops.

The palate is round and lush. Ruby fruits of; blackberries, black raspberries, both plums, dark cherries, strawberries, hints of purple & blue fruits. Round, semi-sweet lead pencil, charcoal, mixed mid berry cola, moist clay, sandstone, sandalwood, dark rich soil, dry riverstone, dark withering florals, excellent, round acidity and a well balanced, structured, nice tensioned, polished finish that lasts 90 seconds. Has another 10-15 years of good sipping properly stored.

Classic '04, developing nicely, great interaction of oak, quite intense dark berry fruit, solid 2nd.

Bright cherry and tobacco. Nicely balanced and refined. In a great place and exceeded expectations.

Very pretty wine. Nicely balanced with graphite cherry leather and tobacco. Fine grained tannins.

I find Lascombes phenomenally underrated. This 04 is singing!

Full, rich, and pure fruited, approaching maturity but drinking really nice. Plum Cassis, smoke, mineral, mushrooms with good acid and fine grain tannins. Great off vintage Bordeaux!

Major funk on the nose, like wet fox fur ...dark sour fruits, expresso. Very solid, not spectacular.

Not flawed but just not great. Sometimes the vintage reports are correct. 2004 is not one to seek out. It’s oddly somewhat similar to how they are talking about 2021 Bordeaux, another rough vintage.
