2006 vintage. A nose that exudes power and character, with finesse. There's leathery notes and rich old oak. On the palate, medium bodied, balanced acidity and medium plus tannins - ripe and lush. More black fruited profile, black cherry and plum. Some woody, earthy notes, and a savoury , spicy character. Minerality and hints of licorice come through in the wine after an hour of airing. And what a finish - long, savoury and deep. Goes on for a good minute. Superb wine. NB: after 1.5hrs of air, this wine is rocking - it's so on it. Best wine of the trip so far.
