Unfortunately a mild case of TCA (cork taint) on the nose giving dusty apple aromas. Many people I know would reject this in a restaurant but the palate was largely unaffected. Very youthful in colour. On the palate fruit (red fruits) in decline over largely leathery savoury characters. Medium plus weight with dry powdery, still firm tannins, I often find in older Barolo. From a 4.5 acre vineyard located in Serralunga known for its iron rich soils giving deeply coloured Barolos. Overall impression of this wine is Solid and a bit Square sided lacking in any complexity for 15 years of age. Expected more - one of the 1001 wines.

Star of decent line up of a cross country dinner. Showing much better, pure and classic nebbiolo - than the very stewed (not faulty according to the pourer) bottle in the matter of taste.
