Started off very dry and extremely tight. Opened and decanted, after 1 he plus it started to open. Very good.. Huge black fruits with a very smooth mouthfeel . Will say still very dry. We all agree. Thanks Howard L for your gift and kindness sharing this. CB 93+

Color is a deep ruby, not seeing signs of aging in the color. Sediment is visible. Aromas are medium+, red currant, black berry, black cherry, black cherry jam, dark chocolate, vanilla, cloves, allspice earthiness, hints of tobacco, prune, and dried violets. Palate is balanced. Tannins are medium+ to high, fine, and matured. Acidity is high. Flavor intensity is medium+ and characteristics of concentrated black cherry, black cherry jam, currants, dark raspberries, vanilla, cloves, mulled spices, prunes, cocoa, Long finish that stays on the palate. Surprised at fruit intensity here vs tertiary development given the age. Overall excellent, could still go another 5+ years. Will pair nicely with a full bodied red meat meal.

This wine takes your breath away in the same manner ascending to the Howell Mountain does. Then, it chills the dorsal surface of your tongue like the winds that pass through the Cade winery cave entrance. Dark ruby, velvet, blackberry and notes of ash will brighten up any celebratory night.
