Shockingly open from the first pour. Would have thought it would need a great deal of time in the decanter before it unfurled but this was showing beautiful right away. Super expressive nose of violets, black olive, red fruit, iron and crushed stones. The palate is deep and concentrated with lovely texture that’s complimented with fresh acidity. Finishes long, lifted and balanced. This was fantastic with the beet course as they had a matching ‘meatiness’ to them. Love these wines.

Lovely, dense, dark. Pure joy to drink and makes me re-promise myself that I will age these wines longer.

What a Syrah! So often they can be unbalanced (on both ends of the spectrum), but this toes the line perfectly.
