This is a very aromatic Left Bank Bordeaux, with a great fruity nose and great complexity.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, dark chocolates, vinaigrette, coffee, black pepper and spices.

Drinking nicely now and will be better in 5 years.

Long finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries, with a soft and elegant mouthfeel.

This 9 year old has good aging potential of another 15 to 20 years.

Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show all that complexity.

I paired it with Brie cheese and Italian meats.

Robert Parker 93 points.

A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit verdot.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$120.

Monthly WTF guys blind tasting group. This month was our annual, and famed, Left Bank vs Right Bank theme. All wines served blind as usual. Started off with a Rosé and a champagne. Great night.

This is in a good spot now, but will benefit from another 3-5years. A little modern in style as it seems Napa cab-esque...baked fruit spectrum (red, blue and black), graphite, and baking spices on the nose with herbal notes and bay leaf on the palate. I called this ‘12 Left Bank. Thanks
@Jack Thompson .

From the outstanding 2010 vintage, ripe tannins with rich notes of black currants and black plums, graphite and licorice

Taking a poll. How long would you let this breath? Thanks in advance!
Thanks
@Tom Garland ! That’s pretty close to what we did. Tasted PnP then waited 2 hours then drank side by side with another Margaux, ‘18 Duhart Millon, for the night.
Color is medium garnet. Nose is tobacco, forest floor, cedar, a little red fruit, pencil lead, and something herbal. Great mouthfeel. Cassis / sour cherry, blackberry, and a bit of astringency.

On the nose ripe dark fruits intertwine fresh raspberry. Black tea, pencil shavings, light black pepper and very subtle meatiness as well. The silky and soft palate belies medium to full body, with round acidity holds up the fruit density well. Ripe smooth tannins.
Still quite youthful.
