M’s bday dinner (3/12). Tasted blind. Light to medium gold color. Sweeter nose than the just tasted 92 Niellon Batard. Notes of lemon, citrus, some clove, white crushed stone and honey. Rich with fine grained acidity. Guessed 92 Leflaive Chevy. It’s not the first time I’ve guessed old Rav to be old Leflaive. The subtle but consistent acidity matched the exotic ripe fruit and minerality. My favorite white of the evening.

May 27th, 2019Tasted blind. Med gold. Citrus notes on the nose with pit fruit, stone, apricot, white flowers, orange peel and a bit of honey. Rich and glycerol in the mouth. Good acidity and if it was flabby early on, it tightened up with several hours of air. Very exotic and nobody guessed Chablis. But after the reveal you could pick out the Raveneau characteristics.
